The Blaugrana full-back believes that his side’s standard of play is now reflected properly in their results after their 4-0 thrashing of Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday

Jordi Alba believes that Barcelona have recaptured their intensity after their 4-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday.

Lionel Messi scored a brilliant hat-trick as Barca followed up impressive wins over Elche and Atletico Madrid and moved back to within a point of Primera Division leaders Real Madrid.

Spain international Alba feels that results are finally beginning to tally with his side’s performance levels and hopes to see them continue in the same style for the rest of the season.

“We’re creating a good dynamic between results and performances and we hope it will be like this until the end of the season,” he told Sport after the match

“The team has come out with more intensity against Atletico and Elche and today against Deportivo. We were intense from start to finish and that shows when you have a team with so much quality.”

Barca now turn their attention to the first leg of their Copa del Rey quarter-final with Atletico Madrid and Alba is determined to have a positive result to take back to the Estadio Vicente Calderon.

“Barcelona always have the mentality to win every trophy,” he added. “The tie will be very difficult, it’s very balanced. I wish we could have been at home [for the second leg] but this will not be decisive, nor can it be an excuse.”
