Leicester and Arsenal will be relying on Mahrez and Walcott respectively to pull the strings upfront in the Premier League clash.
Both Leicester City and Arsenal registered defeats in their opening games of the 2016/17 Premier League season, but that misfortune could change for at least one of these sides on 21 August.
This is the first time since 1953/54 in the English top-flight that the two top teams from the previous season have both lost their opening games.
The Foxes were the first reigning top-flight champions to lose their opening game of the following league season since Arsenal in 1989/90 – the Gunners lost 1-4 away at Manchester United on 19th August 1989.
This season however, the Gunners forced in three goals in their first game and that could account for some flair upfront. They will be relying on our Dashing Bold player Theo Walcott, who has scored in 10 different Premier League seasons for Arsenal. He may have missed a penalty against Liverpool last week, but it took the Englishman only 69 seconds to make up for his err.
As it stands this season, Walcott has a 50 per cent conversion rate after netting one goal with two shots on target.
On the opposite end, Leicester will be turning to our Dashing Edge man Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian has had a hand in 29 Premier League goals since the start of 2015/16 (18 goals, 11 assists) and unsurprisingly, he was responsible for the Foxes’ only goal against Hull City last week. However, he needed four shots to register a singular goal.
There are only two occasions when Leicester City have failed to win whenever Mahrez scores – both are in matches against Hull City and the Foxes aren’t playing the Tigers this week.
This game would be a treat for the neutrals, especially when the two sides finished last season in the top two positions of the Premier League. Both have a lot to prove.
Nevertheless, the winning team will be the one with more in the tank – just like the Dashing 100% No Gas deodorant !
