Players of the Week: Boston Celtic’s Jayson Taytum & Los Angeles Clipper’s Paul George

Over the last week, the Boston Celtics have went 3-1 in their games, mounting victories over Denver Nuggets (105 – 87), Minnesota Timberwolves (145 – 136), New York Knicks (101 – 99) and losing to the contenders Philadelphia 76ers (106 – 96)

The Los Angeles Clippers went on a 3 game winning streak, defeating:

  • Portland Trailer Blazers (133 – 116)
  • Phoenix Suns (113 – 103)
  • Detroit Pistons (131 – 124)

Jamal Murray Sustains Unfortunate ACL Injury

Things have been looking excellent for Denver Nuggets, following their recent acquisition of once Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon, everything is seemingly coming together. With strong bench pieces in players like Will Barton and Javale Mcgee as well, the Nuggets have quickly mounted to the 4th seed.

However, Jamal Murray suffered a gruesome injury that looked very similar to what once happened to Derrick rose. Speaking Wednesday for the first time since the Nuggets announced they will be without their star point guard indefinitely, Malone said the team could see Murray’s anguish over the season-ending injury.

Murray was injured with 50.6 seconds remaining in the Nuggets’ 116-107 loss at the Golden State Warriors on Monday night. The point guard averaged 21.2 points, 4.8 assists and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 47.7% from the field this season.

The star player is expected to recover to good condition around next year.

Power Rankings: Suns rise to No. 1 as regular season enters crucial stretch

The second-place Phoenix Suns made things a little more interesting at the top of the Western Conference with their win over the first-place Utah Jazz on Wednesday, only to be beat the next night by the third-place LA Clippers. The Denver Nuggets are climbing, while the Los Angeles Lakers anticipate the returns of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. And where things could get very interesting is the fight for the last two play-in spots, where the New Orleans Pelicans are possibly finding their footing as the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors lose theirs.
