The running for Singapore’s digital banking license is currently underway, and it seems that things are gearing up as well for Malaysia. Reuters reports that several companies including Grab, Razer, and AirAsia are among the many that are exploring bids for the local license at this time.
India based organization Global Esports has announced a partnership with gaming hardware manufacturer Razer. Through this partnership, Razer has been appointed as the official gaming equipment sponsor for Team Singapore and Team India at the upcoming Overwatch World Cup (OWWC).
Homegrown gaming hardware maker Razer will be setting aside S$10 million over the next year to support e-sports and gaming activities here.
Malaysia’s Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng committed the equivalent to $3.3 million to the “Malaysian Digital Economy for eSports” in Malaysia’s 2019 budget speech. Razer, and Tan, followed by also promising $3.3 million to the Malaysian eSports industry.
