ONE Esports Singapore 2020 Cancelled

With Covid-19 still running rampant through countries, the final major of the season has been cancelled.

Sadly, the global situation still has not improved enough for the DPC to continue. PGL has taken the decision to cancel the ONE Esports Singapore major of the year. It was due to take place on the 20th of June running until the 28th in Singapore.

There doesn’t seem to be any life of ONE Esports Singapore Major being rescheduled and it’s likely that we will return to Singapore this time next year.

This is no surprise as earlier Valve postponed The International 10, which was going to take place in August. The pinnacle Dota event of the year.

Most countries are still on lockdown and some are trying to return to normal life. Although this means being able to return to work, not travelling to other countries. Borders are still closed and the threat is still very real. It seems that LAN will be a distant memory for quite some time to come.

Although fans can still get their Dota fix with online play. Most tournament organizers have turned to the roots of esports and taken their tournaments in the form of online regional leagues. It might be a while until we see cross region tournaments again.
