Potential $466 Million from Sports Betting in Indiana

It is estimated that legal sports betting Indiana could result in the generation of an annual $466 million in economic impact in the first five years.

Eilers and Krejcik stated that the legalization of mobile and retail betting in Indiana could directly impact the economy by generating up to $56.2 million in the first year alone. A figure that is expected to increase up to $256 million in the fifth year along with over 700 full-time jobs created should sports betting be legalized.

The state of Indiana currently has 13 operational casinos, all of which would be able to apply for a sports betting license, should it be legalized. Operators would be required to pay a fee of $75,000 for the license and an additional fee of $5,000 for annual administrative purposes.
