Who is Premier League’s Player of the Year?

Goal has shortlisted the six most impressive players in the English top flight this season – who gets your vote as the division’s outstanding talent in 2015-16?

Unsurprisingly, Leicester City and Tottenham stars dominate the shortlist for Goal‘s Premier League Player of the Year award for the 2015-16 season.

The Foxes eventually emerged victorious in the English title race and have three stand-out players in the running for the prize on the back of hugely impressive individual campaigns.

N’Golo Kante has been arguably the best central midfield player in the Premier League this season, making a mockery of his €8 million transfer fee to become one of the most coveted destroyers in Europe.

Kante played alongside Riyad Mahrez in midfield for Leicester, with the Algerian winning the PFA Player of the Year award for his 17 goals and 11 assists from the wing.

Many of the chances he carved out fell to Jamie Vardy, who completed his remarkable rise up the English football pyramid by scoring 24 times in 35 games as well as contributing six assists.

Vardy was just beaten to the Golden Boot award by Harry Kane, who fired Tottenham’s title tilt by scoring 25 goals to improve on his impressive tally in 2014-15.

At the other end of the pitch, Toby Alderweireld was the most impressive member of Spurs’ league-leading defence following his move from Atletico Madrid.

The final nominee is Dimitri Payet, who scored nine goals and added 12 assists and is the only player to challenge the Leicester-Tottenham strangehold on the award.

Who is your pick for Goal’s Premier League Player of the Year award?
